Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Gods WURC (World Unified Religion Companion), including the website at gods-wurc.vercel.app and related features such as Begin Reflection, saved reflections, Voice Prayer listening, and account sign-in (together, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

The Service

Gods WURC offers spiritual and wisdom-oriented reflection tools. It may retrieve passages from configured sources and generate synthesized reflections anchored in a worldview you choose. Spoken Voice Prayer reflections use synthesized voices as a contemplative aid.

The Service does not claim divine authority, does not invent scripture or citations as revealed text, and does not replace your own judgment, community, or tradition.

Spiritual reflection limitations — not professional advice

Content from the Service is for personal reflection and general informational purposes only. It is not:

• Medical, psychiatric, or clinical advice or treatment
• Mental-health therapy or crisis counseling
• Legal, financial, or tax advice
• Clergy, pastoral, or religious-authority counsel that binds your tradition
• Emergency services

If you are in danger or considering harm to yourself or others, contact local emergency services or a trusted person immediately. Do not rely on the Service as a substitute for professional help.

Eligibility

The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 13 years old to use it. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission of a parent or guardian where required by law. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13.

Accounts and responsibility

You may use some features as a guest. Signing in (Google, Facebook when enabled, or email magic link) enables private saved reflections and account preferences.

• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email and provider accounts secure
• Gods WURC does not receive or store your Google, Facebook, or email-provider passwords
• Provide accurate information needed for sign-in; do not impersonate others
• You may delete your account as described in Data deletion.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Break the law, or encourage violence, terrorism, or illegal activity
• Harass, threaten, exploit, or abuse others, including minors
• Promote hatred or discrimination based on protected characteristics
• Attempt to bypass safety, rate limits, authentication, or access controls
• Probe, scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure except as allowed by law
• Upload malware, or use automated means in a way that harms availability or other users
• Misrepresent outputs as scripture, divine speech, or official religious doctrine when they are not
• Use the Service to provide regulated professional advice to others as if you were licensed when you are not

User content

You retain ownership of journal text and other content you submit (“User Content”). You grant Gods WURC a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display User Content as needed to operate and improve the Service (including retrieval, synthesis, Voice Prayer generation, saving history when enabled, safety review, and abuse prevention), consistent with the Privacy Policy.

You represent that you have the rights to submit User Content and that it does not violate these Terms or others' rights. Do not submit another person's private information without a lawful basis to do so.

Intellectual property

The Service's name, branding (including the GW mark), software, design, and original non-user materials are owned by Gods WURC or its licensors. Third-party passages and sources remain subject to their own licenses and attributions shown in the product. You may not copy, sell, or commercially exploit the Service or its branding except with prior written permission, or as allowed by applicable law (such as fair use where it applies).

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, or delete an account, if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, pose a security or legal risk, or misuse the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account under the data deletion instructions. Provisions that by nature should survive (including limitations of liability and intellectual property) continue after termination.

Service availability and changes

The Service is provided as a living product, including during private beta. Features may change, pause, or end without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available operation. Third-party providers (for example authentication, hosting, or AI/speech processing) may affect availability.

Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that reflections will be accurate, complete, appropriate for your situation, or free from harmful or offensive content.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GODS WURC AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (IF ANY) OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Gods WURC and its operators against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your User Content or your misuse of the Service, to the extent permitted by law.

Governing terms

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator principally resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence require otherwise. Courts in that jurisdiction may hear disputes, subject to those mandatory rights. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service, and supersede prior conflicting understandings on the same subject.

We may update these Terms as the product changes. The last-updated date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you have had a chance to review the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
